Who would have thought it, yet another UK record breaking pumpkin! They just get better and better. This year we want to make sure as many people possible get the opportunity to see the 1,884 lbs beauty! So, what are we doing?

Tomorrow morning, Thursday 22nd October, our pumpkin will be touring Ipswich. Visiting local landmarks; ITFC Football ground, Willis building, Marina/ Docks, Giles Statue- Princes Street and if we have some time Ipswich train station. We invite you all to come see the pumpkin, take pictures if you wish and share the excitement with us!

Full Schedule for Thursday

8AM– Pumpkin departs Thompson & Morgan HQ, Poplar Lane, Ipswich

8.30AM– Pumpkin passes ITFC football ground and council offices, Russell Road

9AM– Pumpkin passes Willis building and The Giles statue

9.30AM– Pumpkin passes Old Custom House and the Ipswich Marina

10-11AM– Pumpkin tours outer Ipswich: Felixstowe Road, Bixley Road, Heath Road, Colchester Road, Valley Road, Yarmouth Road, Civic Drive and over Stoke Bridge and onto Wherstead Road

11AM– Pumpkin passes under the Orwell Bridge

On Friday 24th October, local artist Janie Pirie will be coming to Thompson & Morgan HQ to create a carving master piece. What will she carve I wonder? We still don’t know, so it will be a great surprise to see what she can come up with. Don’t forget, if you have great pumpkin carving skills you can win great prizes by entering our pumpkin carving competition.

Looking for ways to keep your children entertained during half term? Then worry no more, our pumpkin will be stationed at Jimmy’s Farm for ‘Halloween at Jimmy’s Farm’ from Monday 27th- Friday 31st October. Halloween disco, games, trick or treats and to top the theme a giant pumpkin, why not pop along and join the spooky festivities.

Our final pit stop for our pumpkin tour will be Ipswich Fireworks at Christchurch Park on 1st November. Ipswich fireworks never fail to put on a magnificent display each year, past themes include 007 (James Bond) and Michael Jackson. This year they combine another fantastic display with a very special Halloween theme, not forgetting spooky scarefest surprises! With a family funfair and array of food and drinks this traditional family event is not one to miss. Pop along and see the T&M team and take a picture with the UK’s biggest carved pumpkin!
